Travel emissions calculator
Your travel emissions calculator with Dyme. The following use case scenario helps to put the impact of Dyme’s travel product into perspective regarding the carbon emissions produced by travel, and the reductions that Dyme can implement from the trip: A Dyme member has to fly from New York to Paris for a business trip. For the duration of her stay, she intends to rent a sedan, which she estimates she will drive a total of 300 miles with.
Dyme’s method for calculating the carbon emissions of this trip relies on adding up the emissions from the traveler’s hotel stay, flight, and car rental. Use Dyme’s travel emissions calculator. The following calculations illustrate this process:
Example: one person flying from New York to Paris in business class, staying 4 nights at a 4 star hotel and renting a sedan to drive 300 miles
Why do you reduce the carbon footprint of travel?
Dyme exists to fight climate change where it is most needed. Right now, a major concern of businesses is regarding corporate travel: they can’t phase that out, but at the same time they need to do something to reduce carbon footprint of their travel. Of course, whenever you can, opt for doing an online business meeting instead of flying.
But now, when you absolutely have to travel, you can count on Dyme to compensate the emissions of your business travel for no extra cost. This does not solve the problem of traveling, but gives us an immediate possibility of action while we are working on reducing carbon footprint of business travel.
