Trip Emissions Calculator
Estimate your own travel emissions with our Carbon Emissions Calculator
Dyme’s carbon calculator is based on Google’s Travel Impact Model (TIM) and the Hotel Carbon Measurement Institute (HCMI).
TIM accounts for lifecycle emissions, measuring emissions from fuel production, transport, and combustion (well-to-wake). It estimates CO2 and non-CO2 gases, converting them to CO2 equivalent (CO2e) based on global warming potential. Estimates for flights consider factors like aircraft model, passenger load, speed, altitude, and distance. Currently, emissions from sustainable aviation fuels or plane cargo weight are not included in the estimates.
The Hotel Carbon Measurement Initiative (HCMI) is a methodology designed for hotels to calculate their carbon footprint. It allows hotels to measure total carbon emissions, including the carbon footprint per occupied room on a daily basis and the carbon footprint per meeting space on an hourly basis.
