Removing plastic from it’s straw supply chain
Since 2020, Shoney’s has moved an effort to remove plastic straws from all stores, in order to replace them with FDA-compliant eco-product paper and plant straws, which are 100% compostable. Shoney’s has been working with suppliers to back the brand’s dedication to phasing out plastic straws, the same way as it was when it opened 70 years ago in Virginia.
Investing in renewable energy
To reduce carbon emissions even further, Shoney’s is launching eco-friendly gift cards in partnership with Dyme. For every gift card sold, as a thank you, Shoney’s is going to support clean energy for schools and communities in the US, at no extra cost for the consumer. Consumers will be also able to account their carbon emissions in Dyme’s app.

- We use our profits to support solar energy projects in schools and communities
