The short answer
No. DoorDash only accepts DoorDash gift cards. A Chipotle, Starbucks, or Panera card won't apply to a DoorDash order, even when you're ordering from that exact restaurant. The card and the platform don't talk to each other.
Why it doesn't work
On a DoorDash order, DoorDash is the one taking your payment, not the restaurant. It collects from you, then settles with the restaurant on the back end. The restaurant never sees your card details at checkout, so its gift card has nowhere to apply. That's also why DoorDash sells its own gift cards. Those run through DoorDash's payment system, which is the only system involved in the order.
Three ways to use the restaurant card anyway
Order direct from the restaurant. Many chains run their own delivery through their app or site and take their own gift cards there. You can use a Chipotle card on Chipotle's own app or a Panera card on Panera's, delivery included, skipping DoorDash entirely.
Use it for pickup or in store. If delivery isn't essential, the card works the way it always has at the counter or for an in-app pickup order.
Check the brand's own app for delivery. Some restaurants offer delivery inside their app and accept their gift card there, which gets you delivery and uses the card at the same time.
Which chains let you order delivery direct
Ordering straight from the restaurant is the move that puts your card to work, and most big chains support it. Chipotle, Panera, Starbucks, Domino's, and many national brands take their own gift cards in their app or website and offer delivery or pickup from there. The flow is the same each time: add items, choose delivery or pickup, then apply the gift card number and PIN at checkout.
You give up some range this way. You're tied to one restaurant per order and pay that brand's own delivery fee rather than mixing several places on DoorDash. For spending down a specific card, that's a fair trade.
If you order on DoorDash a lot
If DoorDash is your default, a DoorDash gift card is the practical pick. It works across every restaurant on the platform and covers the food, the delivery fee, and the tip, none of which a restaurant-specific card can touch. Redeem the code under Account, then Gift Card, and the balance applies to your next orders automatically. The DoorDash gift card guide and DoorDash FAQ cover the details.
Earn Miles, and fund solar, on DoorDash through Dyme
Since you're buying a DoorDash card anyway, the card you'd buy can do more than cover dinner. Buy a DoorDash gift card on Dyme and you earn 1 Dyme Mile for every dollar toward travel, 5 per dollar during special offers, at full face value with no markup. The card spends on DoorDash exactly the same; the Miles are the part you don't usually get.
If you split your delivery between brands, the Green One4All Card is one card that redeems for DoorDash plus ten others, including Panera, Lyft, REI, and Topgolf, so the recipient picks. It earns the same Miles on purchase, and 3% of every Green One4All purchase funds Dyme's solar projects. Either way, the money you were going to spend on takeout also moves you toward a trip.
