Physical gift cards are activated at the register when purchased. E-gift cards are valid immediately upon delivery. No separate registration or activation step is required to start spending the balance.
Through Dyme, e-gift preset amounts run from $25 to $200. Directly through barnesandnoble.com or in store, physical and e-gift cards are available from $10 to $500 in whole-dollar increments.
Balance, reloads & expiry
No. Barnes & Noble gift cards never expire and carry no dormancy or service fees. The full purchased value stays on the card indefinitely.

Yes. Physical Barnes & Noble gift cards can be reloaded with additional funds. The total loaded in any 24-hour period may not exceed $2,000 in the aggregate. Reload in store or online at barnesandnoble.com.
Refunds, lost cards & acceptance
No. Barnes & Noble gift cards are non-refundable once purchased. They can be re-gifted, applied to a purchase in store or online, or used for NOOK content.
Call 1-800-THE-BOOK (1-800-843-2665). Barnes & Noble will replace a lost or stolen card for the remaining balance if you provide the original gift card number and satisfactory proof of purchase. Without those, replacement cannot be issued.
No. Barnes & Noble gift cards are accepted only at Barnes & Noble stores, barnesandnoble.com, the Barnes & Noble app, and for NOOK content. They are not interchangeable with Amazon, Books-A-Million, or any other retailer.
Buying & corporate
Yes. Barnes & Noble runs a corporate and bulk gift-card program with custom denominations and volume ordering for employee rewards, client gifts, and school programs. Contact bn.com for details.
