Using your gift card

Yes. Redeem each 25-digit code into the same Microsoft account and the balances pool into one store credit total. There is no published cap on how many codes you can stack.

Xbox gift card credit works across the Microsoft Store on Xbox consoles, Windows PCs, and Xbox.com. It covers full-game downloads, DLC, in-game currency, Xbox Game Pass and Game Pass Ultimate, apps, and movies or TV episodes rented or purchased through Microsoft. See how to use your Xbox card for step-by-step instructions.

Physical cards purchased at retail are activated at the point of sale. For digital codes bought online, no separate activation is needed — the code is ready to enter at redeem.microsoft.com, on an Xbox console under Redeem a Code, or in the Xbox app on Windows.

Through Dyme, Xbox e-gift codes are available from $5 to $100. Through Microsoft directly and at retailers such as Amazon and Walmart, common amounts are $10, $15, $25, $50, and $100. Multiple codes can be stacked on one Microsoft account.

Balance, reloads & expiry

No. Xbox gift cards and the resulting Microsoft account credit do not expire, and Microsoft does not deduct service, dormancy, or maintenance fees. Once the 25-digit code is redeemed, the funds stay on your account until spent.

Redeem the code first, then sign in to your Microsoft account at account.microsoft.com/billing/payments and look under Payment options for your Microsoft account credit. On an Xbox console the same balance appears under Settings, Account, Payment and Billing. You can also check your Xbox balance.

There is no reloadable Xbox gift card. Each code is single-use and loads a fixed amount into your Microsoft account. To add more credit, redeem another gift card code.

Refunds, lost cards & acceptance

No. Xbox gift cards are non-refundable once purchased. An unredeemed code can be re-gifted, but once redeemed the store credit cannot be converted back to cash.

Microsoft is not responsible if a gift card is lost, stolen, or used without your permission. If you have a damaged or unreadable physical card, contact Microsoft Support with proof of purchase and photos of the card — they may be able to recover the code depending on circumstances. Once a code has been redeemed by someone else, Microsoft does not guarantee replacement.

Microsoft account credit from an Xbox gift card covers purchases made through the Microsoft Store on Xbox and Windows, including Game Pass subscriptions. It generally does not apply to Microsoft 365 subscriptions or Azure credits, which are billed through separate Microsoft commerce systems. Verify compatibility in your Microsoft account billing settings before attempting to apply the credit.

Buying & corporate

Yes. Microsoft runs a business gift-card channel for bulk orders used as employee rewards or incentives, with custom quantities and invoicing. Contact the Microsoft corporate gift-card team for details.
