Fairmount is a residential neighborhood north of the Benjamin Franklin Parkway, with the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Eastern State Penitentiary and Fairmount Park all within walking distance. It has very few hotels, so this list is short: three places, ordered by star rating and guest scores, two of them on North Broad Street next to the B (Broad Street Line).
What to expect from hotels in Fairmount
Fairmount is a place people live, and it has far fewer hotels than Center City. What you get instead is the Philadelphia Museum of Art, Eastern State Penitentiary and Fairmount Park on your doorstep. Most guests walk to the museum steps, the Barnes Foundation and the Schuylkill River Trail rather than taking transit.
The B (Broad Street Line) is the main rail link. The two North Broad Street hotels are one to three minutes from Fairmount station on the B. The Maj Hotel, on Spring Garden Street, is about a 19-minute walk from Broad-Spring Garden, so plan on a bus or a rideshare for transit-heavy days. The G (Route 15 Girard trolley) runs along Girard Avenue to the north.
