What to expect from NoMa as a base
NoMa has changed more in the past decade than almost any other DC neighborhood. The area around 1st Street NE and M Street NE now has grocery stores, restaurants, and a small park at Storey Park, all within a few blocks of the hotels listed here. You are not in a tourist corridor, which means fewer crowds and lower noise levels than hotels near the National Mall.
The Red Line gives you direct access to Dupont Circle, Bethesda, and Reagan National Airport via a transfer at Metro Center. For Capitol Hill, the walk from most NoMa hotels takes about 15 minutes. For downtown DC, the Metro ride is under 10 minutes.
