Using your gift card

Yes, in store and online. Home Depot does not publish a cap on how many gift cards you can apply to a single transaction, which helps on large appliance or project orders.

Physical Home Depot gift cards are activated at the register when purchased. E-gift cards are delivered ready to use; the card number and PIN in the email are all that is needed for online or in-store checkout.

Balance, reloads & expiry

No. Home Depot gift cards never expire and carry no dormancy or service fees. The full purchased value stays on the card until redeemed.

Refunds, lost cards & acceptance

No. Home Depot gift cards are non-refundable once purchased. They can be re-gifted or applied to any in-store or online purchase.

Home Depot requires proof of purchase to replace a lost or stolen gift card, and cards purchased with cash generally will not be replaced. Visit your local Home Depot store with your original receipt or credit card statement showing the purchase. The replacement value is the remaining balance at the time of the report. No. Home Depot gift cards are redeemable only at Home Depot US stores and homedepot.com. They are not accepted at Lowe's, Menards, or any other retailer.
