Hotels near Fair Park, Dallas, a short Green Line ride away

Fair Park is 277 acres of Art Deco exhibition halls, museums and a 92,100-seat stadium about two miles east of downtown Dallas, and it's busy well beyond the three and a half weeks of the State Fair.

No well-reviewed hotel is right next to it, though. The closest is about a mile from the main entrance, so the easy move is to stay beside a DART Green Line station and ride in. Fair Park Station is on the Green Line at the Parry Avenue entrance.

What's at Fair Park

Fair Park hosted the 1936 Texas Centennial Exposition and has been a National Historic Landmark since 1986. Most of what brings people here the rest of the year is in the same few blocks:

• Cotton Bowl Stadium. Home of the Texas vs. Oklahoma game each October and of Dallas Trinity FC, the women's pro soccer team.
• Hall of State. Run by the Dallas Historical Society.
• Music Hall at Fair Park. Broadway Dallas shows and touring comedy and music.
• Dos Equis Pavilion. The outdoor amphitheater, run by Live Nation.
• Museums and gardens. The African American Museum, the Children's Aquarium at Fair Park and Texas Discovery Gardens.

Fair Park hotels that aren't near Fair Park

Several hotels on I-30 in east Dallas carry the name, including La Quinta Inn & Suites by Wyndham Dallas/Fairpark, Holiday Inn Express & Suites Dallas East - Fair Park and Studio 6 Dallas, TX - Fair Park. All three are about 4 miles from the park in a straight line, farther than any hotel on this page. They can work if you're driving in from the east, but you won't be walking or taking the train to the gates.

Getting to Fair Park and parking

Fair Park's address is 3809 Grand Avenue, Dallas, TX 75210, and the main entrance gates are Gates 5 and 6 on Robert B. Cullum Boulevard.

• DART. The Green Line stops at Fair Park Station on Parry Avenue and at MLK Jr. Station, south of Robert B. Cullum Boulevard.
• Parking. Day-to-day parking at Fair Park is free, but some events charge. During the State Fair, the official lots charge $25 per space and the parking address changes to 925 S. Haskell Avenue.
• The rest of the year. Check the event page on the Fair Park website before you go, since parking and gates change with each event.
