These are the Dallas hotels whose LEED certification we could confirm from the hotel or its brand, at any tier. The Omni Dallas Hotel holds LEED Gold and the Kimpton Pittman Hotel in Deep Ellum holds LEED Silver. The table gives each hotel's level.

What LEED certification means for a hotel

LEED is the U.S. Green Building Council's rating system for green buildings. It has four tiers: Certified (40–49 points), Silver (50–59), Gold (60–79) and Platinum (80 or more). Points come from energy use, water efficiency, indoor air quality and materials sourcing.

USGBC also offers LEED recertification, which uses current operating data to show a building still performs. A certification earned when a hotel was built or renovated tells you how the building was designed, so ask the hotel whether it has been recertified since.

How we verified each hotel on this list

We kept only hotels whose LEED level is stated by the hotel or its brand. Omni announced LEED Gold for the Omni Dallas Hotel in 2012, and the Kimpton Pittman Hotel says on its own site that it has achieved LEED Silver. Hotels that claimed LEED status we couldn't trace to a hotel, brand or USGBC source were left out.

The result is a short list, and we'd rather show you two confirmed hotels than pad it. Travelers comparing credentials can also see our Green Key certified hotels in Dallas.

Before you book: what to ask the hotel

  • Ask the front desk when the hotel was LEED certified and whether it has been recertified since.
  • Request the hotel's most recent ENERGY STAR score if energy efficiency matters to your stay. LEED Certified does not guarantee a specific ENERGY STAR rating.
  • If you need EV charging, confirm availability directly. LEED certification does not require EV chargers.
  • For group bookings, ask whether the hotel can provide a sustainability report or carbon estimate for your event. Some LEED-certified properties track this data.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between LEED Certified and LEED Silver, Gold, or Platinum?+

LEED Certified is the base tier, requiring 40–49 points. Silver is 50–59 points, Gold is 60–79 and Platinum is 80 or more. A hotel at the Certified tier met the minimum threshold for green building recognition. Higher tiers reflect more points earned across categories like energy reduction, water efficiency, and materials sourcing. On this list, the Omni Dallas Hotel is Gold and the Kimpton Pittman Hotel is Silver.

Why does this list have fewer than five hotels?+

We only list hotels whose LEED level the hotel or its brand states, and we didn't pad the list with unconfirmed ones. Plenty of Dallas hotels describe themselves as green, but only these two give a LEED level we could check.

Does LEED Certified status mean a hotel is currently operating sustainably?+

Not automatically. LEED certification under the Building Design and Construction (BD+C) rating system reflects how a building was constructed or renovated. USGBC also offers LEED recertification, which uses current operating data to show a building still performs. Ask the hotel directly whether their certification is current or lapsed, and request their most recent recertification date if that matters to your booking decision.

How do I find a hotel's LEED certification level myself?+

Go to usgbc.org/projects and search by project name or address. The result page shows the exact certification level, the rating system version used, the year awarded, and the certifying body. If a hotel claims LEED status but does not appear in the directory, the certification is either lapsed, pending, or the claim is inaccurate.

Do LEED Certified hotels in Dallas cost more than non-certified hotels?+

Not as a rule. Rate differences come from location, brand tier, and demand, not certification status. Both hotels on this list are 4-star properties, the Omni next to the convention center and the Pittman in Deep Ellum, so their rates reflect that positioning rather than any green premium. You can compare rates directly on each hotel's website.

Which DART lines serve the hotels on this list?+

DART's Convention Center Station, the closest to the Omni Dallas at 555 S Lamar St, has been closed to riders since January 2026 while the convention center is rebuilt, and trains pass through without stopping. The nearest open stop for the Omni is EBJ Union Station, served by the Red and Blue lines and the TRE commuter train to Fort Worth. The Kimpton Pittman Hotel is a short walk from Deep Ellum Station on the Green Line.
