Two stores for the price of one card
Ann Taylor's terms list Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor Factory, LOFT and LOFT Outlet stores, plus anntaylor.com and loft.com, so the person you give it to can spend it on workwear at Ann Taylor or something more casual at LOFT.
Online, it only works on orders shipped to a US address, so it's no good for international orders.
You may still see Lou & Grey named on older pages. The current terms leave it out, and louandgrey.com now sends you to a page on LOFT's site, so we'd treat LOFT as where that money goes.

Our take: the eGift is the one for a last-minute present, since you can send it the same day or schedule it to land on the day of a birthday. If you want to give more than $500, or something to unwrap, the mailed card goes up to $1,000 and shipping is included.
Either way, buy it from Ann Taylor, LOFT or a store you trust. Ann Taylor says it can't refund or replace a card bought from someone else.
Can I buy one at Target, Amazon or Costco?
Stores change their gift card racks all the time, online and at the checkout. Big retailers like Target, Amazon, Costco, Walmart, Kroger and CVS carry a rotating selection of brand cards, so check the shop's own gift card catalog before you make a trip for this one.
When we last looked, Amazon had an Ann Taylor physical card in $25, $50 and $100. The online gift card catalogs at Target, Staples and Sam's Club didn't list one. We didn't check Costco, Walmart, Kroger or CVS, so those are an open question rather than a no.
Does it work at Talbots, Chico's or White House Black Market?
No, even though they're sister companies. Ann Taylor, LOFT, Talbots, Chico's, White House Black Market and Soma all belong to KnitWell Group, which the private equity firm Sycamore Partners owns. Ann Taylor's gift card terms only name Ann Taylor and LOFT stores and sites, though, so the card stays with those two.
Can I buy it on Dyme?
Not at the moment. Dyme doesn't sell Ann Taylor gift cards, so you'll need one of the places above. If you'd like to earn Dyme Miles on a gift card, here are the brands we do sell.
Can I get one at a discount?
Not reliably, and it's riskier than usual. Ann Taylor's terms say its cards can't be resold, and that it can cancel a card that has been resold without its permission, along with anything bought with it. So a cheap Ann Taylor card on a resale site could stop working after you've paid for it.
The safer way to get more for your money is to pay for the card with a credit card that earns rewards. Check how yours treats gift card purchases first, because plenty of cards leave them out of their bonus categories.

Go to anntaylor.com/gift-cards and enter the card number and PIN, or call 1-800-342-5266. You'll need the 19-digit card number and the PIN when you pay, too.
Got an old 12-digit e-gift certificate? Those work online only, not in stores.
Expiry, fees and the fine print
- Expiry and fees: Ann Taylor's terms say its gift cards don't expire and have no service fees.
- Limit: a card can hold up to $1,000.
- Returns: you can't return or cancel a mailed card once it's bought, or an eGift once it's been received.
- Lost or stolen: Ann Taylor will only replace one with proof of purchase, for whatever was left on it when you report it. Call 1-800-342-5266 or ask in a store, and treat the card like cash.
- Cash: the eGift terms let you cash out a balance under $5, or under $10 in California. The mailed card terms only allow it where the law requires.
- What you can't buy with it: other gift cards, or payments on a credit card account.
Buying for a team
Ann Taylor doesn't publish a corporate or bulk gift card program. The one limit it does publish is on eGifts: no more than $10,000 a day per person.
