No. Standard Carnival gift cards carry no expiration date and no dormancy fees, so the balance stays intact whether you sail this year or years from now.

Refunds, lost cards & acceptance
No. Carnival gift cards are non-refundable once purchased. They can be re-gifted or applied to any future Carnival booking or onboard account.
Lost, stolen, or damaged Carnival gift cards will not be replaced, according to Carnival's terms. You can still redeem the card online at carnival.com using the 16-digit card number if you kept a record of it. Keep your card number and original purchase documentation in a safe place.
No. Carnival Cruise Line gift cards are redeemable only on cruises sold or operated by Carnival Cruise Line. Even though Carnival Corporation owns multiple cruise brands, the gift card does not transfer across brands.
